Since its birth in
February 2005, YouTube has taken the planet by storm, making an audio-visual
revolution in social networking. Its world-wide video sharing methods has made
us able to share those precious moments with family, friends, and the rest of
the world, and has given all kinds of various performers a platform for their
acts to be viewed how they wish.
In this article I deconstruct YouTube at the most popular section of it:
Music. Now dive into the realm of musician’s and their influence on the
Internet Phenomenon. With a count down from 10, I’m comparing different genres,
nationalities and instruments.
This will be tough!
Here we go…
10. At number ten in
my sensation countdown is AlexGMusic7 or Alex G with over 19 million views of
her beautiful, angelic voice. With
only 45 uploads, to have 19 million views is a big feat and is very rear. But
not only does she sing well, she approaches the camera with personal music
videos which look professional and tasteful to the viewer and could
indoctrinate you into believe she’s a global star.

could see happening!

9. Next up at number 9
is Tanner Patrick. This amazing musician has attracted 14 million views to his
channel with his rare, silk voice. But not only can the boy sing, he plays
every single instrument in his videos! And with only 22 upload’s, I don’t have
to tell you how talented he must be!

8. At number 8 is the
very talented Hobbie Stuart. His cockney, lad vibe given out in his uploads
attracts masses of people: Over 6 million views in just 20 videos. This man has
the confidence and voice to go a long way.

7. The next musician
who has hit the big time on YouTube is Airto! With over 20 million views, the
hat wearing unshaven talent has defined the typical YouTube sensation:
performing in his bedroom.
From the comfort of his own home in the Netherlands , Airto first came
onto the scene in May 2006 and has become top of the Video food chain since. A
truly amazing musician!

6. At number six on the list of
sensational video artists is Tyler Ward. Since January 2008, Tyler has landed a
whopping of 267 million views and in October will voyage the globe in his first
ever world tour!
Based in Denver, Ward has mixed his amazing originals with brilliant
covers to create a channel, which can satisfy his huge fan base for eternity!
Tyler has featured other YouTube hits in his videos including Boyce Avenue and
Alex Goot.

5. Half way through
the battle of finding the master of all YouTube artists, number five hits us
with a tangy twist, which can only be found in KarminCovers! Amy and nick has hit us with their
alternate versions of covers, which can only be described as awesome. With over
212 million views, the pair has dazzled the planet, especially Amy, who is the
greatest female rapper I have ever heard.

4. At number 4 we now
turn our attention to a completely different genre, because The Piano Guys is
the next on our hit list.
With over
95 million views, The Piano Guys has absolutely stunned and mesmerized their
audience with sheer skill and passion. The four men play the piano gracefully
and admirably, as if their problems disappeared for that short time, which
really includes you in the piece. The Piano Guys promise to “put their souls
into every note of the frame.”

3. Down to number 3
and the end is on the horizon! At Number three, is the very talented Alex Goot.
With over 90 million views worldwide, Goot’s nerdy personality has won over our
ears and invaded our “favourites” section. Alex performs all of his music on
his own instruments, films it, edits it, and produces it. His income totally
comes from iTunes sales so get buying!

2. Now we come to
number two and we meet the quirkiest, most friendly person on YouTube:
Gabrielle Aplin! I’ve followed her from her early days on YouTube performing in
her room for a few thousand people, and now she’s become a 90 million view
YouTube hit! She’s just released her EP album on iTunes and has had a session
with “BBC Introducing.”

And finally, we are at
number 1! And it is of course, the incredible Boyce Avenue! The boy band came
onto the YouTube scene in 2007 and since has annihilated the rest of the
contestants, pulling in over a massive 646 million views worldwide. They have
won over hearts with their amazing covers of pop songs by turning them into
something else entirely! The band is constantly touring and always uploading
new videos.
